We love Sandra Boynton books. They're great for little hands, and our daughter has enjoyed them since she was an infant.
I thought this one would be a bit of a gimmicky holiday thing, and I guess it kind of is, but we have still really enjoyed it and it has been a favorite for a while. The subject matter interests my daughter, and it has some memorable lines she learned quickly. She started declaring "What's going on here??" in all sorts of situations, which has been fun.
The story has kind of a mystery to it that keeps the child engaged, while also making reference to thematic Halloween elements that they're seeing a lot around them in the fall but don't yet understand.
