I don't usually write reviews, and they are usually negative when I do. I'm halfway through this book and I just had to pause and give it the recognition it deserves. I got this because I'm taking a course on zombies in literature and culture and I needed a book that wasn't part of the curriculum to write a review on. I chose this one because it sounded interesting, and it was only 180 pages. wink. This is one of the better zombie stories I've read, and I find myself wishing that it actually was longer! The story has a lot of dark humor and the protagonist is the perfect anti-hero. As I read this, I find myself hoping they'll make it into a movie. Of course, I also don't think a movie could ever do the book justice. If you're looking for a great book with undead cannibals and killer rednecks and an ex criminal who is stuck in the middle of it all, this is the book your looking for!
