Imaginative, exciting, enchanting. I liked the story... or the idea of the story. Our heroine, Everly, leads her intrepid band of friends tired warriors into the epic battle to save seven worlds and return them to peace, love and free will. Along the way, the story became more and more complicated, to the point that contradictions and losses of continuity became difficult to ignore. Then, instead of untangling and satisfying readers with a resolution, King uses a tired, weak tool to bring everything to an end. She wipes the slate clean. None of this happened. It's like ripping away the story and laughing while she yells, "Psych! Gotcha!" It's not an unpleasant story to read. The ending however made me roll my eyes and say, "Ugh."
