I've been writing since 2009, so much of what is in this book is not new to me. That being said, it did shed some light on areas of Amazon's secrets I was not aware of. The basic gist is this - Amazon controls it all, and we are slaves to their rules, algorithms, and visibility schemes. They give preference to some - they make others work for or it, or pay for it. The marketing information is short and sweet, with not much depth. This book, however, isn't focused on those aspects as much as it is to show you how Amazon works behind the scenes. With millions of books available for sale, we are all needles in a haystack, striving to find visibility to make sales. I, too, am a victim of Kindle Unlimited, who had a fairly lucrative monthly income only to see it dwindle with the onset of their exclusivity - either play with us only or reap the consequences. Making the decision to go "wide" versus "Kindle Unlimited" is something we all struggle with. I'm in, I'm out. Otherwise the book is great for new writers, and a bit of rehash for those of us who have been in the game for ten plus years.
