I thoroughly enjoyed Chris Fox’s previous novel, “Lost Loot of Lima”, and was equally impressed with “The Bosnian Affair”. The intrigue starts early, in the opening chapter, when Brad discovers the body of his mistress Sophie. It appears that her previous life in war torn Bosnia has caught up with her, and connecting the pieces from past to present is a perilous challenge that puts Brad’s life in danger - but he will not give up. I normally don’t care for the use of flashbooks, as I find that they sometimes distract from the story being told. However, in this case it demonstrates the author’s versatility in his writing styles, using flashbacks to provide valuable background information and demonstrating his obsession with Sophie. A recommended read.
