I have mixed feelings after reading this. Really happy for Jade, sad that we'll probably just catch glimpses of her in the future through the spinoffs, but also disappointed in the way events unfolded. The story had an immense build-up and then sputtered. I get why it went the way it does, I do, but I still feel like, really, that's it? It doesn't satisfy like the predecessors. Still some choice scenes, though, and an interesting development there for the archivist thrown in. It will be fun to see where that goes in some future writings, of course, outside Wylde. So, "Balancing" is good, but I think it could have somehow been better.
