I love the Irish Country Books! I look forward each year to the next in the series. This book was no exception. It gave us a deeper understanding of Fingal O'Reilly because we experience the training he received as a doctor in the Irish slums. It became a little too technical in certain areas about new kinds of medicines, and went on a bit too long about them. However, in spite of that. . .there was still the warm feeling that the author creates by introducing us to the lives and characters contained in the book. I am looking forward to the next book, and more about their life in the village, with Barry in the practice again.
