I didn't realize how much I wanted to know about wildlife rehabbers until I read Suzie Gilbert's "Unflappable". Gilbert is a talented writer who spins a road story with the best of them. Her earnestness about animal rescue is conveyed with intelligence and wicked hilarity. I cheered the good guys and hated the bad ones and at the end, I wanted more of these flawed, compelling characters. "Unflappable" has an engaging storyline, strong characters, a little sex, a little violence, determined women, interesting men, and awesome wildlife. Spielberg, Scorsese, Coppola, Howard-- quick, buy the movie rights! Seriously, I would go to see this movie.
