Definitely buy your shoes based off the size chart. I have a 8yo girl who wears a size 3 in Nike shoes (which Nikes run small imo). I got her a 2 based off her foot measurement per the TEVA size chart on their website. It was accurate. Her foot measures about 8”. It fits great with a smidge of room in the toe (so room to grow but won’t trip over). She has a normal width foot- if her foot was wide I would have gotten her a 3.

My 6yo has these in a size 13- also a great fit. She has wide feet, and she loves them. She’s between a 13 and 1.

For reference children’s shoe sizes go in this order, smallest to biggest... 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5...

Shoe sizes confuses my husband and he didn’t know why my 8yo is a size 2 and my 6yo a size 13!
