This is a fast paced book involving a twisted psychopath indiscriminately killing people in broad daylight. After some investigation the NYC Detective, Mike Bennett realizes that the shootings are non-random and the killer has an agenda in choosing his targets. Not much romance or mystery, may be too much violence for some readers. I enjoyed some of the Alex Cross books and the first book in this series, "Step on a Crack" but it would have been a better read if the author spent less time with problems Bennett encounters with his 10 adopted children. Also there are a couple story lines that were not brought to closure - a waste of time. The "Teacher" portion of the book made up for this so I give it 3.5 round up to 4 out of 5.
