I really enjoyed the first and second books in this collection. Thomas Prescott is rude and crass, and hilarious IMO. The mystery and psychological thriller of Unforeseen pulled me in. Grey Matter was almost as intriguing of a mystery that kept you guessing till the end.
Part 3, The Afrikaans had a different feel to it. The writing style was different. Instead of a mystery, it felt more like an attempt at action/adventure with a large dose of AIDS awareness infomercial. I almost stopped there, but figured I had gone that far, I might as well read Show Me too.
Part 4 was more in the vein of mystery as Prescott delves into a cold case in Missouri. Not a bad story, but not page turning like Unforeseen was.
