I've had this vacuum for almost two months now. I live in a small one bedroom apartment with two 45 pound shedding dogs, and have mostly hardwood floors with a few low pile area rugs. I will say that this is a powerful vacuum with strong suction and it does do carpet really well. I bought this model over a Shark model that was about $100 less because it was marketed as great with pet hair and came with the pet hair attachments. The bristled rolling pet har attachment is almost useless. You have to clean it constantly and it does no better job than the regular upholstery attachment. I don't find that that the vacuum does upholstery any better than my last vacuum (Miele), still a lot of work. As far as hardwood, it works. but I have to clean the bristles multiple times while cleaning my small apartment - otherwise the hair just gets stuck in and around the bristles and just starts to get pushed around the floor when you vacuum. I also have to empty the dust canister multiple times. But the most annoying thing about it is the hose. It is too short - or it might be long enough but just has too much tension - so when you are trying to do upholstery you can only get the attachment about a foot and a half away from the base. Doesn't matter whether it's connected to the full vacuum or just the base - both are light - so unless you are holding them they constantly fall over when you're trying todo upholstery. So overall I'd say the vacuum is just OK. Does the job but nothing special.

UPDATE 3/22/2021 - I had previously said that the Pet Power Brush attachment did not work well. It took me a few weeks to realize that it actually wasn't working at all - I had received a defective one that didn't spin. I contacted Shark directly and they promptly sent me a new one. It works and it is less effort to clean upholstery than the regular attachment. I don't know if it's enough to make me raise the review of the vacuum overall - maybe I'd bump it 3 & 1/2 stars now.

UPDATE 11/23/2021 - Pet hair power brush has broken again and Shark will not replace it. The vacuum is useless on furniture w/out it. I guess I will have to expect to replace it every few months at $30+. I'm lowering my review to 2 stars. Will not be purchasing a Shark again.
