As a non-novice and a non-expert Vim user, the book was an easy and brisk read. In the first half or so chapters of the book, I learned some "new" aspects of Vim, e.g., :vimgrep, :args, while brushing over the features that I already use in Vim. The later chapters were more about configuration and specific scenarios; something to visit when the need arises.

For a novice, the book can seem a bit fast paced. However, if they try out the recommendations as they read thru the book, then it should be fine.

Overall, I think the book is well-suited to hone Vim skills (and not to get started with Vim).
