This is not as good as the first but much better than the second book in the series. The heroine is enslaved as a means to placate marauding Vikings....basically handed over to the enemy as as peace offering by her own father. She is terrified and develops inner strength to survive her ordeal. The descriptions of the various characters are well done as are secondary characters. This plot is pretty good, but I found the cultural and social situations more interesting than the budding romance.
I woukdf recommend to readers who wanted to learn something of Viking culture.
