the dense story, the way in which it’s told, the performances, cinematography… it’s a memorable and timeless film. nothing pretentious about it. it’s just high quality. if you enjoy junk food movies that you don’t have to engage with, that’s okay. having unrefined taste in film does not justify spouting off about classics like your opinion has any merit
