I loved this book. It's a great mystery that reveals itself in a well paced story. As I read it, the thought kept coming to me that this was written by arguably the best basketball player of all time. I liked that Kareem told the story in 19th century English and that Mycroft Holmes collaborated so thoroughly with his Chinese driver, Huan, as well as his great friend, Cyrus Douglas, who happens to be black and runs a shelter for London's lost boys. Sherlock is a mere teenager and makes many mistakes along the way although his brilliance is emerging as he learns. I just had to marvel at the well rounded, erudite expression of the times by these two authors and look forward to reading more in this series.
