Duncan takes out his pack of crayons, ready to do his drawings when he comea across a rather startling finding- his crayons have all written letter of complaints to him! From red crayon complaining that he's working harder than the rest... To black lamenting that he's tired of just being used for outlines- it's a hilarious and interesting story right down to end, where Duncan comes up with a genius solution!

Daywalt perfectly captures the different personalities in the various crayons in their letters and it's aptly illustrated by Jeffers. It's an absolute thrill to read (and put on funny voices while doing so!) while subtly teaching kids colours. Also intertwined in this story is the concept that each person has their own experience in life and in isolation, we all think we have it the hardest!

Have a go at this one, you'll have no regrets! It's so different and fun, kids will have a blast! Also, I can think of at least one or two fun activities based on this book!
