Erica is brutally honest in this book about her experiences with the undeniably evil disease of alcoholism. I read this in a few days, and would have read it in one if I had time. I've read nearly every quit-lit book out there, and this one reminded me of Cat Marnell's "How to Murder your Life" as a (mostly) high-functioning woman with a great job whose secret life of addiction nearly every alcoholic can relate to in feeling, if not detail. Brilliantly written and highly detailed, I appreciate how she both respected AA (and used it for part of her recovery) but also rightly suggests that there is no ONE way to get sober; you truly have to take what works and leave the rest.
