I was at first reluctant to purchase this book for my Kindle, but on reading the negative reviews I noticed that many people were expecting another "Mitford" book. I truly enjoy this author and was not willing to "pin" her down to just the Mitford series. I bought the book and began reading it with a willingness to read a good story. I was not disappointed. Of course, we all know Father Tim and Cynthia, but the setting and the characters in the story are fresh, new and just as interesting as the Mitford crowd. The characters are well fleshed out and I quickly became interested in their lives. There is enough Irish dialect to make it real and I was quite comfortable reading it, I found that it helped to pull me into the locale of the story.
I would recommend the book, I thoroughly enjoyed the story and would encourage others to allow Jan Karon out of the "Mitford" box, you will be happy you did
