About the Amazon Currency Converter

Amazon Currency Converter allows you to pay for qualifying purchases in your local currency.

When you elect to pay with an eligible American Express, MasterCard or Visa credit or debit card, your order total will be listed in your local currency on the order summary page.

When you purchase using Amazon Currency Converter:

  • We’ll automatically display your order total in your local currency on the order summary page.
  • You'll always have the option to pay either in your local currency or in US Dollars.
  • The applicable exchange rate will be displayed below your order total at the time of purchase.
  • Refunds are issued in the currency you used for your original payment. We'll use the same exchange rate used for your original order when processing the refund.

  • If 1-Click settings are enabled in Your Account, you can view Shopping Cart subtotals and prices on product detail pages in your local currency. To update your 1-Click settings, go to Manage Addresses and 1-Click Settings.
  • When you use Amazon Currency Converter, we'll charge your credit or debit card in your local currency. In some cases, your bank or credit card company may assess additional fees, which may increase the overall cost of your purchase.
  • Your local currency refers to the card currency associated with your eligible payment method. You can change your card currency by updating your payment method during checkout.
  • If you paid for your order in the marketplace currency (USD), your refund will be issued in marketplace currency and your bank may apply a conversion rate to the currency of your card.
