About Customized Messages with Corporate Gift Cards

The customized messages you include when sending Amazon.com Gift Cards through the e-mail delivery service should meet the guidelines on this page.

Your message should tell your recipient why you're giving them an Amazon.com Gift Card. If your company is using the gift cards as a part of its employee or customer rewards program, let your recipient know that you appreciate their work or their patronage. If you’re an authorized reseller of Amazon.com Gift Cards, let your customer know that you’re fulfilling an order and appreciate their business.

Do not send messages containing the following:

  • Profanity
  • Obscenity
  • Generally offensive content

In addition to the common sense restrictions listed above, there are also federal laws that prohibit you from sending certain types of mass e-mails. You'll be liable for any violations of these laws resulting from your use of our services. In general, your message should contain minimal promotional messaging about your company and focus on what you’re delivering – a gift to a valued employee or customer, or an item purchased by a loyal customer.

Amazon may review the contents of your customized message to ensure you’re following the rules you agree to in the terms of use. We also reserve the right to decline to send any message that violates the E-mail Service Terms of Use.
