About Rental Fees
Below are the different types of fees that may apply when renting an item from Amazon:
Initial rental and extension fees depend on the item being rented and the duration of the rental period. Initial rental fees are charged at the time of rental checkout. Extension fees are charged the day following the rental due date.
Buyout fees are calculated as the full purchase price of the item at the time of rental, less any rental fees and extension fees you have already paid. Buyout, fees are charged at the time of rental purchase. Timing for automatic buyout fees vary by rental product category as outlined in the Rentals Terms and Conditions.
If the rental item is not returned in the original condition or is rejected because of damage, additional damage fees may apply. Damage fees are charged following receipt and processing of rental returns. This can take up to 30 days following the return of the rental item.
The best way to avoid additional unintended fees is to track the status of your rental at Manage Your Rental
and deliver your return shipment to the carrier listed on your return label by the due date.
