This is an excellent look at China -- its potential and its problems. There's one big problem with the book. It's out of date by one president. China should have collapsed by now. But …
The book is excellent -- it makes sense and it's quite readable. So what if the author was off on his timing. I'm off to read more than a newspaper's worth about Xi; then we'll see how Chang's guidance applies.
What a waste. I saw the author on TV this week and ordered his book. The book is almost 20 years old and completely outdated. Mr Chang predicted the collapse of China would be 10 years ago. The book’s examples are all outdated. Some theories may still be correct but unless he updates the book don’t buy it.
