Very Basic Stuff
Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2019
This was not what I was hoping for. Our marriage group decided to go through this book. This mainly focuses on realizing your marriage has a purpose, realizing what your unique “tools” are that have developed based on your life experiences, and how to start encouraging each other to use them and walk together. It’s very very basic stuff - maybe for couples that don’t really have a lot to do with one another or don’t know how to value each other’s uniqueness or their own abilities to minister to one another. There are 2-4 questions at the end of each section that review what you read. Scriptures are minimal and it’s full of examples and stories from their own life. Some people may like this I’m just not one of them.
If you are looking for a book that pulls couples farther into gods word, this isn’t it. If your looking for help with parenting, this isn’t it. If your looking for something more like a bible study, this isn’t it. It’s just a simple and very mild couples book that’s easy to read and deals with very simple basic mentalities a couple needs to have to be on the same page with their priorities, values, dreams, abilities, and goals in life.
