The Tale of Four Sisters

My One Month Marriage by new to me author Shari Low, is an emotional and exciting read. The story primarily takes place in Glasgow, combined with a luxurious trip to Ibiza and Las Vegas. The book is about the four Danton sisters, Zoe, Verity, Yvie and Marina. The sisters were never quite the same after after their father left when they were young, always relating present situations to the hurt of their pasts. Zoe is a marketing executive, Verity is a school teacher, Yvie is a nurse and Marina is a stay at home mom. Ned Merton teaches in the same school with Verity, and has slowly snaked his way into each of the sister's lives. Ned ends up in a long term relationship with Zoey, although being faithful is not a top priority. He and Zoe tie the knot, right before they abseil off a building. Their marriage lasts for one month.
I liked this book, however, at times it was a bit difficult to keep track of each sister's story-line and their respective timelines. All the characters were well-developed, and I felt like I got to know everyone of them on an intimate level. Each sister was interesting, and I loved how the bond of sisterhood ultimately superseded whatever else was going on. I shedded tears of joy and sadness as each sister determined their place in the world. Overall, a solid book in women's fiction.
