How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

5.0 out of 5 starsReally becoming interested in Nameless short stories series
Reviewed in the United States ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ on May 14, 2023
While it's a series only the Nameless character is maintained and developed. It's nice to have short stories to blend in with other books I read / listen to. These are about 1+ hour listens on Audible. As a Prime member of Kindle Unlimited they are included as a free book with Audible download.

Highly enjoyable story. Looking forward to the next in the series. Koontz has been one of my favorite writers since his beginning.

This series is awesome. Nameless is always a step ahead of the bad guys, thanks to Ace. It's a quick read, I can't wait to start the next one to see who Nameless is up against next.

I did not see the mountain lion coming, but I'll take it! I am enjoying this style of vigilante justice!

I know they are supposed to be short stories, but 10-20 more pages would have made this one perfect. There was an overall lack of suspense due to how quick you get to the climax.

4.0 out of 5 stars PHOTOGRAPHING THE DEAD: Nameless, Season One, Book 2 by Dean Koontz (A Short Story)

This second installment in the series has Nameless seeking justice for a serial killer who is once again on the hunt for another victim(s). After the way the first story ended with a "vision" (he's clairvoyant) I thought maybe those events would lead to this newest case, but it's obvious now that it was a flashback he was having.

Since Nameless cannot recall anything beyond the last two years of his life, there are lots of unanswered questions about our leading man who has no qualms about doling out punishment to those most deserving, albeit vigilante style.

Although I liked the previous story a little more, this was another solid addition. Once again even taking my time I finished it in about an hour, but it was an hour that contained plenty of chills and thrills. The killer is a complete sociopath who are the scariest of individuals since they have no conscious whatsoever.

I would have liked more information about his crimes however, such as the way he killed his victims. We also don't get much insight into Nameless or that of his past, except for one instance, and I think the last story did a better job on that score.

The best thing of all about this story was the actual ending though. The killer's fate could not have been a better or more fitting end to an otherwise miserable existence. In this case I thought the punishment fit the crime perfectly. At the close of this tale I was disappointed to see it end so soon, but I can't wait for book three now ๐Ÿ˜Š

Pages & Kindle Locations: The story ended at 94% on page 52 and location 635.

I used to read Dean Koontz when I was younger and I honestly thought that he was running out of steam. I freely admit that I was incredibly wrong. This is only the second episode in this series and I am hooked. You shouldn't be disappointed in the least!

Great series a man called Nameless because he cannot remember who he js helps an organization take care of certain not so nice characters. It is like reading a tv series! Very good. Dean Koontz does it again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Satisfaction like a gourmet cheeseburger
Reviewed in the United States ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ on December 5, 2022

This is not high literary art any more than a cheeseburger, no matter how good, is haute cuisine. Personally though, I'll have the cheeseburger.
These tales are well written meals for the sensible soul providing pure satisfaction. Plot twists multiply through each installment of the series as well as character development. In addition to each mini story, there is also an overarching back story that reveals itself as the series unfolds. Kind of like stand alone collectable toys which fit together to make a larger item.
Mr Koontz has always been a favorite author of mine and I am grateful to him for making this series available.
