How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsGreat starter book
Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2019
Bought this book along with others to start practicing hand/pencil coordination and handwriting with my 4 yr old son. I followed another reviewer’s tip and also placed each sheet in plactic sheet covers and into a 3-ring binder then practiced on them with dry erase markers. This is an excellent tip to practice multiple times on the same sheets. My son enjoyed working on his “homework” as he calls it and asks to work on it on his own. This is a very basic book and would benefit most a child begining to learn to write. Overall, I am satisfied with this purchase and would recommend.

3.0 out of 5 starsCould be better…
Reviewed in the United States on May 13, 2022
This book uses green dots (start) and red dots (end) which are a great way to teach children where to begin and end. I was pleased on the practice pages until we reached the actual letters which no longer include the red and green dots, so the system the child learned is no longer present and the child doesn’t know where to start or end. Could be easily improved by the publisher if they want to make a better product. I’m on the lookout for something better!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for kids that have no fine motor skills

I bought this book for my 4 year old daughter in preparation for kindergarten because she was not confident or coordinated enough to begin a marking book involving writing her own letters and numbers. Unlike many other books I’ve purchased, this book doesn’t introduce the letters in alphabetical order but rather in a developmentally appropriate order. She hasn’t wanted to put this book down since I bought it and has finally made attempts at writing her own numbers and letters.

Let me start by saying I literally can’t think of a con with this book. I was looking for something that didn’t go in alpha order, but by order of difficulty. This does that. So your kid gets some quick “wins” with T, and lower case l. Instead of getting stuck on uppercase B right away haha. Pros: There are a ton of activities. They keep my kid’s attention. The “story” is clear for each page. (Ex: You’re drawing straight lines to make the sides of a rectangular crayon.) It appeals to boys, girls; kids who like space or sports. It has nature and community helpers; fairy tales and animals. Some pages are funny (ex: mice on slides). They have a clear “go” dot (green) and “stop” dot (red). The pages are thick. (I did like a lot of reviewers and placed in page protectors in a binder - to use with dry erase.) My 3-year-old even works on them independently at the table while I make dinner. — The book is inexpensive and high quality. You won’t regret just buying it.

5.0 out of 5 stars EVERYONE WITH A KID MUST BUY!!!

This year has been a nightmare my daughter was ill-prepared for kindergarten I had no idea the amount of preparation it took. If I had any idea I would have bought this during the year prior and practice with her. We are a month into Kindergarten and she is doing so great with writing letters. For the life of her she could not write S and with this little gem, she writes S beautiful along with numbers. It helps to know how to move the pencil around. Will be buying again for my soon to be three years old.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice handwriting book

These worksheets are perfect for improving eye-hand motor control for writing. We actually tore out the pages and placed them in plastic pages used for photo albums so that we could use dry erase makers and use them over and over again. Out 4 year old really enjoys tracing the designs which include cute pictures as well as letters. The almost 3 year old is also interested in trying to trace the lines and feels that she is learning to write also. There are 126 practice pages and the paper has a good thickness. This is an excellent product for some home practice for preschool and early school age children.

5.0 out of 5 stars Like the way alphabet is arranged

Excellent! Alphabets are arranged by how easy it is to write. So letter like “L” amd “T” are in front of book, interspersed by relevant line exercises (drawing and tracing) that help the child’s pencil coordination writing those letters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Important pre-handwriting

As a retired educator, I want to stress that I do not 'teach' my children at home in formal settings. My children spend time reading, playing, drawing freely, and playing with play dough. I have purchased this book, though, because my youngest has a desire to 'write'. One very important prerequisite to learning to write letters and numbers correctly is to learn to trace properly, color within lines (maintaining control of the crayon), and learning to draw shapes, lines, etc. This book is great for that.

Purchased this to introduce my almost preschooler to writing and he has done very well with it. He loves the little activities on the inside and all the fun pictures. I like the fact that there are different start and end points in each activity so that he can learn to write in all different directions, different angles, lines, etc. He has become so confident now, that he is already working on tracing letters and numbers and sight words on dry erase letter pads we have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for repetition or sight words and to work on handwriting for very young children.

It’s a good place to start if you are trying to get you little one to be able to read sight words or work on their spelling/handwriting. It’s helped my 6 year old learn to write some lowercase letters better. It’s short and doesn’t have a lot of pages and the words are very easy, so some children might complete the book very quickly, but it provides good practice and repetition.
