Phenomenal Start to a Promising New Series
Reviewed in the United States on February 25, 2020
When I first started reviewing romance, I stumbled across a few male romance writers. Because it was almost like finding a unicorn in the wild, I tried books by several of them. Nearly 1000 reviews later, Miller is one of only two I’ve stayed with faithfully, each new release being an auto 1-Click for me. Over time I’ve watched his skills grow, with each new book being better than the last.
Alex and DJ's story is the first in a brand new YA/NA series set in a mid-west college town. DJ Dalton is the promising new football star in a university that has an overabundance of incoming female freshmen. Due to a mix up because of her name, Alex Reyes is assigned to the Dalton dormitory whose population is 100% male, except for Alex. Even worse, she's assigned a dorm room with the big man on campus himself, DJ. Awkward. DJ may be attracted to the fiery Alex, but at least he's one of the few guys who makes eye contact with her eyes and not her shirt.
With the humor and heart (and a dash of heat) we’ve come to expect from this writer, Alex and DJ's story is compelling, engaging and tons of fun. I read this story in one sitting, enjoying the typical antics of the college environment while appreciating the low angst level and refreshing maturity of the characters. This one will appeal to all romance readers, but especially sports romance and young adult fans. Get in on this series from the beginning, because once you read this funny, heartfelt, phenomenal story, you'll be eager to get your hands on the rest of the books in this series.
