This has always been one of my favorite series from this author, but I have to admit that I have been *really* enjoying the slight change in tone over the past two books. The author has gone from typical MC growing his abilities while dealing with an evil unseen villain, with a splash of humor... to a LOT more humor. Starting notably from the 10th book, the interaction between the MC and his ladies has become hilarious at times. I've actually laughed out loud several times.
And all this without ruining the "hey, there's bad stuff going on, and a bad guy we have to take seriously" part of the story. I mean hey, this *is* all fantasy, on top of haremlit, so if you're looking for all drama and suspense all the time you're in the wrong place anyway. I for one am really enjoying the author being willing to push the edges of silly for the chance to introduce fun into the story. It really works, and I hope he keeps it up.
Okay, yeah, the story: bad guy escalates attacks, using bigger/badder monsters. MC creates more magic metal critters. (Spoiler: Stan gets his own flying mount!) Some of the MC's magic metal critters are BIG. And we expect to see a lot more of them soon. New runes are perfected, the MC's relationship with the Baroness is finally defined, Aurora and Cayla are REALLY bloodthirsty -- if we didn't know before, we sure do now. Final spoiler: one of the MC's gals finally gets pregnant, and we expect the rest to follow suit soon.
Jake and his Harem have their hands full as the Master steps up his sneak attacks. The war is here wether they're ready or not. But all the work with the mages is paying off and they are able to put a serious dent in the Master's forces and plans. Jake's construction of metal men and a new huge project will be ready to turn the tide. Plus the girls have a huge surprise for Jake! You really need to read this series! I can't recommend it strongly enough! I'm ready for book 12!
What a great story, love the plot, characters and battles with a little harem action thrown in, I still don’t understand why mason can’t fly around on a metal sheiks , he can make metal parts fly around to assemble robots so why not something metal he rides on, also should have used a metal harpoon to I’m pale the fire giants, one with high melting point, looking forward to more expectant women for mason, highly recommended series!
Review time....the book as always was excellent. This series keeps evolving and my only worry is if/when it will come to an end. If you haven't read this series I don't know what you are waiting for? Also when you are done with this one I would HIGHLY recommend all of this author's other books! Keep up the excellent work and am excitedly looking for to the next one!
This book was really funny and action packed. There were so many funny scenes, some with the girls an some with out them. I'm trying to recommend this book without giving away spoilers and it's not easy. Oh yeah, that cliffhanger was not nice at all. Great marketing strategy since I'm already salivating for the next book, but still...not nice!
As usual, lots of fun. The war with the master continues to escalate and Mason and his woman must continue to up there game. Mason is of course making new toys to stop the Master and making more woman love him. Good continuation In the series. Off to the next book.
I love this series and its characters. I enjoy the story and how it is developing. I have become hooked on this series and have with drawls when I am unable to read more. I have reread this whole series more than once and I still cannot get enough. Love this book.
This is definitely one of the most epic series I've ever read. In addition, it's moments of comedy are slapstick gold. I definitely laugh more when reading this series than any other in a long while. So, grab this entire series and hang on for the ride!
Another fun book in the series with Baby fever striking and leading to a whole bunch of bedroom Olympics and the creation of mechanical Dragons to help protect the real ones. If you aren't reading this series you are being left behind.
I absolutely have loved this series and this volume really feels like it is about to crest that climax point. The character have come out a bit more and the 'scenes' are still great. I picked up this series after I was disappointed when I reached the end of the most current volume of dragon emperor (which I cannot wait for 8) and it has been amazing. I just gotta say Fu on the note 11 stopped on. Volume 12 can't get here fast enough. Kudos to Eric Vall for his work, you doing fantastic and love your approach to this genre.
