I purchased this kindle book in November. I picked it up and put it down several times before I finally pushed myself to reading it.

Folks, for me, this book was just okay. It was my first by this author and probably my last.

There was just too much legal procedures and it was not believable for me to buy into it.

There were over 21,000 reviews of this book and most were 4 and 5 stars, so I am in a minority, but this book was too slow for me to continue reading this series.

This is a very good book and lots of fun to read. It is not quite as good as the great Legal thrillers, But it is good enough to be worthy of your time. It is a nice page turner that will keep you guessing. The characters have depth and heart. I think I will read another book by this author.

Though at times the first person dialogue L
seemed to slow down in parts of his and others abuse of alcohol / alcoholism , relaying his and others past history.. etc the underlying plot held together and kept one from easily determining
who the murderer really was.

It took some time to sort through the women characters and they weren’t very well developed making one curious as to ways their presence, their engagement could have had a more interesting purpose throughout the Story
Line.

Actually , though it seemed the Authors intent was to give all the Characters some defined flaw..to make them relatable(?)it wouldn’t have been a stretch to enhance the ethical behavior and integrity of some..

Kind of frustrated by Lots of loose ended story lines .. i guess requiring one to read his future book..

Interesting story narrated and a sort of primer on legal jargons and legal process details. This is the first book of this author that I have read. There are a few editorial issues as well as incorrect characters being referenced(e.g., Ann Fulham instead of Sam Johnstone). A more careful read-through before release of the book would help.

Would have given 5 stars except for perceived legal difficulties that should have prevented Sam from continuing to represent his client. Yelling “incoming” in a crowded court was evidence of Sam suffering through PTSD and, as such, could not effectively represent his client.
