WTF-once I open up a Frieda McFadden novel I’m completely enamored for the next 24 hours. Please, no interruptions.
Brooke moves back to her home town after her parents death a decade being away while raising her ten year old son. Working as a nurse practitioner, she lands a gig at a penitentiary where lives the monster (Shane) she put away ten year before. Brooke’s testimony alone was the nail in his coffin, sealing his fate to life in prison after her attempted murder and the murder of her friends one faithful and stormy night.
After the shock wears off one she has to treat him for injuries, she starts to question if he really committed the heinous crimes and if he too was a victim like her.
When a woman disappears without trace, Brooke’s long time best friend, now boyfriend, and fellow survivor-Tim, can’t keep his story straight, and Brooke starts to question everything including who the actual murderer was all those years ago.
This book had me questioning EVERYONE and I couldn’t believe the end result when the revelation was finally brought to light. Let me tell you, it’s not who you think it is!
