They have three days to plan their wedding. The girls parents are moving to CA and expect their daughter to go with them. She refuses and they leave without her. She moves into the family farm with her in-laws. They were only together on their wedding night but after being sick in the mornings, her mother-in-law takes her to the doctor and she verified it. This is only half of the story. I read this story in one sitting. I could not put it down. I highly recommend this book.

She settles into life on his family farm under the eye of her mother in law who is not happy. Jane is determined to save the farm and have it prosper when Danny gets home. She encounters many obstacles and eventually makes everyone happy. A sweet great read.

A Pleasant Story BUT

It was pleasant but there were glaring errors: A couple of song titles were wrong. The song was "Close to You" and NOT "They Long to be close to you" and another that I forget. That BIG one is the fact that kegs of beer were allowed at the wedding party. In 1969 the LEGAL drinking age in New Hampshire was ***21***. The author really should have done fact checking. No beer would have been allowed at that teenage wedding! Errors like this are something I find really aggravating. I know this was the law as I actually looked it up, something the AUTHOR should have done but obviously didn't.

Also, the author does not use commas correctly or apostrophes, tho she does try. Commas where they don't belong and a recurring use of "parent's" as in "his parent's house." The correct word is "parents'" as it refers to the possessive of 2 people. A better editing job should have been done and there were a lot of loose story threads. All in all, it was free so mildly enjoyable.

A terrific family saga with similar vibes to works by Maeve Binchy and Debbie Macomber. Two high school teens fall in love when he asks her to tutor him. He is a strapping football captain whilst she is a petite, redheaded nerd. Her parents try to split them up when they move to LA but she insists on coming back for graduation when the couple get engaged. Neither her parents or his mother are really that keen but they have the full support of his father. How will the young couple cope with a quick wedding (he got drafted and will soon be going overseas), the death of his father, the unexpected pregnancy, theft, the news that he has been injured and the possibility of losing their home (the farm that has been in the family for decades). A heartwarming tale that is beautifully crafted and with characters that you will adore.
