Great series

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. It has been fast acting lots of plot twists. The thing I marked it down a star for is it seemed the author tried to make it into thesaurus. I have a pretty good job vocabulary but found myself looking in the dictionary probably 5-6 times a book. It is not a bad thing if it is a couple times a book but that many times is a bit much. I would definitely recommend this series but warn about the words used.

Scifi series to follow

When I was a teenager, I had been a voracious reader, especially of scifi series. However, for the last few years my favourite book series have either soured or new ones did not catch my interest. That all changed with the Void War series. Only after reading the first book did I realize, that it has been ages since I have read a competent and hopeful story, with relatable characters, who are good people.
Definitely recommend.

More action and aliens than the Honor Harrington series!

This is what I'd hoped the Honorverse was going to be: action and some aliens. This is not quite as polished as Weber, but there are likeable protagonists with foibles, humans (both good and bad) and aliens (both good and bad). Thoroughly enjoyable space opera!

If you enjoy series like Honor Harrington, you will find this series to be a gem. Plenty of action and characters are well developed.

Holds your attention, good detail without excessive words

It has been awhile since I've written a review, I don't write them. However, with D. J. Holmes I wanted to. The series keeps your attention. If you're like me you may anticipate what is going to happen next. Let's just say you're in for a few surprises.
