I'm debating book 2 in the series because this is a first for an epilogue to carry a cliffhanger, tragic one at that. Really?! Why am I the only one upset by this? I'm thinking we're getting a normal epilogue, wedded bliss, children, etc not history repeating itself for him and then more drama, issues? Why? Why not in the same book? Yes, this author's writing is excellent and spot on but was it necessary after the eating disorder, the physical and sexual abuse, the pill addiction to add what was so traumatic to him with his first love to happen again?
The reviews were astounding so I purchased the book because series are not my thing anymore after Day. I want my epilogue to be HEAs option to move onto the next. This just dragged their story and I don't want more angst only to realize there are 2 more reads to this.
Seriously, be honest with major cliffhangers and warnings. I can't recommend this.
Can they get past them?! You'll have to hit those one click buttons to find out, and as for me, I CANNOT WAIT for more! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Shannon Callaghan is a college intern working for the entertainment beat at the local paper. When she has to interview movie star Jack MacCarrick, finding him to be a pompus ass and storming off before they could even begin. It was fate they meet again and maybe they can both find a fresh restart of life.
There are a lot of Insta love stories out there. This is one of them but it isn’t at the same time. I loved how neither one came right out and proclaimed their love, it was a slow build to put a foundation down before those three words were spoken. Honestly this seemed more realistic than most romance novels.
All and all I enjoyed reading this book, it had whit, charm, romance, and made me giggle out loud a few times.
