Werewolves. Primal. Predatory. Mythical.Or so we would like to believe.Investigating a series of grisly murders last winter in Lacland County, Detective Will Greyeagle came up against a supernatural enemy in the form of legendary creatures called the Dogmen. To stop them, Will joined forces with a group of Native American warriors known as the Hotamétaneo’o, or Dog Soldiers. With the help of his grandfather, the mysterious White Bear, and powerful Native American magic, they managed to defeat the Dogmen, but at great cost. Now months have passed and Greyeagle has found the love of his life, retiring from Lacland County to become a full-time Dog Soldier. On a trip to Eureka Springs, Arkansas, they learn of other “animal attacks” and fear the Dogmen have returned. As the Blood Moon nears, it becomes obvious this new enemy is not what it appears to be. It’s something much worse.Teaming up with local law enforcement, Will and the remaining Dog Soldiers set out to vanquish this new enemy. Unexpected help arrives from a stranger known only as Gideon and a shadowy black ops team called the Wild Hunt, but will it be enough? To make matters worse, there is a mysterious “priest” who seems to be hunting them all, friend and foe alike. To defeat this new enemy, Will Greyeagle must become more than cop. More than a Dog Soldier. He must become the Apex Predator.

Can't decide which books I like best because so far, the 3 series I've read are all great and stand alone stories. Which is good because I haven't been reading them in order and since they're all intertwined I can't keep the timeline straight...lol

I enjoyed this second of the Apex Predator series almost as much as the first. Unlike some other reviews, I liked the food descriptions. My only gripe (if you want to even call it that) was that Will is, oh, so in love with Sarah, and even assures her there is no reason to be jealous, and then at the first opportunity has a 3 way with the new girl that they've just met. Then new girl takes a shower and comes out into the room nude, puts on Sarah's red bra and panties and Sarah is ok with that?! Around here, she would get her behind whupped. Or get hit with a silver candlestick given the circumstances. Other than that minor detail it was a fine romp. Nope we hear more from Selene.

This starts where book 1 left off and soon Will Greyeagle and his group of werewolf hunting friends is on a new hunt but this time the shapeshifters isn't of the same orign as the first pack they fought back. And on top of this he has to face the aftermath of beeing bitten by a werewolf and his heritage as dog soldier. There is new supernatural elements and caracters added to the mix this time, maybe a little to much, a trap many of these werewolf horrors tends to fall in, but hey, the action is good, you cheer for the heroes and i will defently read the third and last installament in this serie, i gave the first a strong 4 star and this time it is a weak 4 star as i feel the storyline could have benefitted from not bringing in to many elements and new caracters but thats me, it is still among the better in the genre and im exited to see how it end

I’m so hooked on these book and it’s awesome to read on how will came about his abilities and where he comes from. As a California native and knowing our stories about shapeshifter, these books are close to the stories.
