**Potential Spoilers**
The words to express how much I love this book are astronomical! As a Loyal Caged Reader, I would have read this book regardless. With that said, I did not expect the pure level of artistry in this world and the characters that inhabit it.

The opening acts like a portal that pulls you into this amazing world of fantasy and magic. We meet a headstrong fairy who believes only she can save her people from an impending threat, but as with most impulsive decisions, things go horribly wrong. It sets the reader and the characters off on an adventure to save the world of Novia.

The characters are so well-developed that there is someone for everyone. Personally, I don't like Zanissa and Gemini, but that's the point. They are woven in such a way that their personalities are a love em' or hate em' style. Their passion is something we don't see much anymore in a world fast-tracked through technology. Now, I am bias but I love Maze, Shaw, and Sam! Sam is spunky and unapologetic about who they are. Maze is my book baby for sure. He is my tortured soul that must be protected at all cost. Shaw... I mean..you'll see.

Beyond the characters, the world is crafted to where the readers can easily follow along and at the same time, they can feel as if they are there. Each location described on that sweet spot of being enough to envision it, but not so much that you get bored.

Also this book is LGBTQ+ friendly and that means the world to me! I can't wait for the next book!

I pre-ordered this book in January and impatiently awaited its arrival. Jessica Cage did not disappoint. As usual, the descriptions of the characters and settings are so detailed that I was in Novia alongside of Remy, Gemini, Maze, and the rest of the crew. This book is broken down into three parts and a bonus short. Remy, part one lead, is a strong-willed rule breaker. Her drive to be rebellious not only changed her but caused a tragedy of unmeasured proportions which leads her to do things that she has never done before. Gemini, part two lead, started out as an activist on earth and ended up a new creation mentally and physically trapped by his creator. Once he finally gains his freedom, one decision led to many tragedies. Maze, part three lead, is a great balance of strength and gentleness. His love for those around him makes him an easy character to love, and hands down one of my favorites. Sam is another favorite character of mine. They are a strong, sassy, respected, and tough being who is always ready for whatever. These stories seem to be leading up to a huge battle after the return of a very powerful being that will take all of the Novians we have met thus far to help take it down for good. If you do not have friends like Kayne, Sam, and Maze, then you need to go find new friends. A++

A peacekeeper who is bound to the traditions of his kind is tasked with preventing war. All of these stories and more come together to set the stage for an epic series taking us through Novia that is filled with danger, suspense, friendships, love, and action.

I would definitely recommend to this to anybody who loves reading about mythical and magical creatures as they go on adventures, fight dark forces and possibly fall in love. Amazing, 1st part reminded me of true blood but better IMHO, 2nd a gender bent version of tangledwith a dash of twilight(still a better version of twilight), 3rd kinda like Jack and the beanstalk (not sure why), and the final short was just amazing, can't wait to read the rest of the series
