Too much plot copying going on here...

Too many other actors have gone same route as this movie. Wears me out to pay for repetitive material played out with just a change of scenery here and there. Couple this with all the unnecessary F*** Bombs by Mr. Cussak - that added nothing to overall plot credibility. Looked like a Stephen King tale gone sideways. You will come away with that all too common feeling - How could I have wasted my time and money on this junk. The main actor has the requisite talent - just not demonstrated in this horror flick (a little stretch here)... Two thumbs down on this one. Keep young children far away from this disaster.

One of the worst movies I've ever seen

John Cusack, come on, you're so much better than this. Even in 2010, you didn't need stupid, god-awful movies like this one. My favorites were the wild eyed girls in the basement, the almost C-section there, and the twist at the end. What a waste of money. What an embarrassment for all concerned.

I rarely would do a review on anyting, however this movie was so horrible I wanted to warn others not to waste their time. I love Jennifer Carpenter, however I'm disappointed that she was in this movie. The beginning and middle were horrible and the end was one of the worst I've seen.

Clearly, the industry thinks that consumers want more content of a debauchery nature. I strongly suspect that they are catering to themselves to find the quick and fast buck to lure consumers in with false trailers. Ironically, I make it a vow to consider the studio and avoid future contact with it by simply screening it from all my devices.

It is a disgusting video/movie.

This Movie is Not John Cusack's Fault

It's kind of a 'Silence of the Lambs', with a dab of 'Payback' meets the real life stories of several abduction victims (possibly a bit exploitative). If you terrify easily, this film is not for you. Well-acted, but the screenplay lacks polish. It's trite, but could have been kind of acceptable with a few tweaks. Screenplay had ZERO consultation from police, I think it's fair to say. There is a pivotal scene where the cop's (Cusack) daughter is portrayed as too blatantly stupid. A very small change in the degree of recklessness shown would have added more cred to the story and more sympathy for the character. Another small mess-up that is emblematic of the lack of thoughtfulness in the writing, has to do with poor investigation technique where the detectives don't actually investigate a witness statement, they accept her opinion as fact instead of easily checking her assertion. It would not have taken more time or cost more money to shoot it more responsibly. Things get a little worse at the end. I have no theoretical problem with the crazy twist, BUT it is done really lame. Not a lot of effort would have had to go into a re-write to make it kind of workable. I feel bad for Cusack. I mean he got paid, but this kind of film can hurt your status. HIS performance is fine, and contributes significantly to making the film watchable. It's the writing that stinks.
