It may be an "anniversary edition" but it didn't include anything special. I've seen some of the behind the scenes short features on television. Nothing included except the theatrical trailer. It's not an especially clear copy, either!

Before hollow super heros with no heart...

If you have never seen this film, but you are an Avengers fan, buckle up. How about a regular person who finds a jet pack and decides to become a hero! The heart. The romance. The mystery. The comedy.

This was the stuff of superhero gold! Back when the good guy COULD get hurt and suffer. Back when we could relate to low tech excitement before the unbeleivability of Iron Man and a suit that is now, well, pretty much magic and invincible. Ughhhhhh!!!

I recommend you check this and Disney’s “Dick Tracey” as well.

Amazing film, terrible "anniversary edition"

This isn't a review for the movie (which is still just as fun and exciting as it was when I was a kid), but boy does Disney do a terrible job with their home movie releases. This is the 20th anniversary edition blu-ray and there isn't so much as a single special feature on it! No concept art, no audio commentary, no booklet, no behind the scenes features, no comic to script to screen features, just nothing!

I left a similar review on the special edition blu-ray of Fantasia too, although at least that had some commentary and tiny amount of special features. But Disney should really be ashamed of themselves for treating their movies like this, they have tons and tons of material they SHOULD be releasing with the movies on blu-ray, and there are plenty of people like myself who look for things like that. ESPECIALLY in today's streaming-heavy world, it's important to preserve movies and how they were made for future generations of movie watchers.

One of the top films of all time

Normally hollywood annoys me. The movie will be about 2 athletes, and the actors/actresses will be too gorgeous to be believable. I've seen real athletes, they don't look like supermodels. Supermodels suck at playing sport that require eye hand coordination. Hollywood makes Ashton Kutcher play a gun slinging ultra spy. Or Megan Fox plays a 19 yr old senator from Florida. Pretty people are never productive. They spend their time becoming pretty, not becoming useful. What is more unrealistic than Johnny Depp or Harrison Ford playing as policemen, Channing Tatum a soldier. It makes Hollywood movies unbelievable. Except Sylvester Stallone as a policeman in copworld.

Here we have some actors and actresses playing actors and actresses which is very helpful for explaining why they are so beautiful. It works. So the rest of the movie which is part comic book is a smashing success.

Great underrated movie.

Excellent movie that will take you back to the 40’s and 50’s movie genre. Clean cut good fun. I know that might bore some folks but I enjoy these kind of movies more and I did over 24 yrs flying and supporting tactical aircraft.

Cliff Secord, played by Bill Campbell, is a stunt pilot that discovers a jetpack and helmet in an old airplane. He meets up with his girlfriend, aspiring actress Jenny Blake, played by Jennifer Connely, who has recently got a small part in a movie. Bill tells her about the jetpack but is overheard by the lead actor who promptly asks Jennifer out. It is revealed that the lead actor, Sinclair secretly engineered the theft of the jetpack, due to an issue, Bill discovered it. Bill then uses the jetpack to save a friend in an airshow, the flying man is seen and nicknamed The Rocketeer. A search is then enforced for the jetpack, causing Bill to run and hide with it. In the ensuing action, Jennifer is put in danger and a number of different people started to get stirred up causing a lot of conflict and action.

A really good show

Really good acting and plot. Trying to find this at a good price took forever. To stream it live had an unbelievable price and it never went down. And trying to buy it was even worse. It was like Disney was traying to make sure no one would ever seen it again. Finally found a good price and it was from a seller in England with no region lock on it. And with the cheep delivery option they had it was still way cheaper then any where else I could find. Really enjoyed watching it again. And In Blue Ray It looks really good. If you looking for a good film to get away from it all this is it.

A fun popcorn movie
Verified purchase
This is a fun popcorn movie, which I saw a kid and I still enjoy it. Is it a perfect film? No, but it's loads of fun. Some of the dialogue could've been better, but some of it was actually pretty witty if you think about it. Especially the part when Neville Sinclair (Timothy Dalton) is trying to seduce Jenny (Jennifer Connelly) and she realizes he using lines from various movies he's been in. Yes, she is a damsel in distress, but a damsel in distress, who's no dummy. In fact, her boyfriend Cliff Secord (Bill Campbell) is a bit of a doofus, but a good guy and when he has to become a hero he does.

I heard Jennifer Connelly didn't really like playing in this film, but she did a good job. Alan Arkin, Paul Sorvino, and Terry O'Quinn were good in it. Timothy Dalton made a good villain and had some pretty good lines too. Connelly had some pretty good lines to like "I finally got to play a scene with Neville Sinclair!"

This was the first film I saw Connelly in and I've been a fan since. And yes she was absolutely gorgeous in this film.
