This movie would be just fine if it wasn't for the 13 year old dating a 17 year old. How is this wholesome entertainment? The boy finds out her age at one point and freaks out, only to decide later than since she will be 14 next year (and him 18), that their relationship is acceptable and they kiss.

Occasionally you'll find a 13 year old ready for that kind of relationship but they are FEW and FAR between. This should not be portrayed as a desirable thing in media to young kids! Get this crap off prime video!
If you're offering it for free you are encouraging that behavior to children.

A 17-year-old dating a 13-year-old?! WTH? Even worse, he French kisses her *after* he learns her age. Who in the world thought this could be OK? This is totally unacceptable, unhealthy, and ILLEGAL for good reason (and it will be even more illegal when he's 18 next summer and she's 14). We thought this would be wholesome, family-friendly entertainment. And it would've been, without this nonsense going on. I can't imagine how they thought it was a good idea to have this in a movie targeting little girls and families.

My 9 year old daughter recently got into reading The Babysitter’s Club books so I rented the movie for her. She loved it! And it’s just as sachrinely sweet and nauseatingly 90’s as I remember! If you want to reminisce to a day when young preteen girls were allowed to babysit for profit without WiFi enabled Nanny cams, cords on phones, and kids were allowed to eat sugar and get messy, this movie is for you!

I really wish they would remake this movie with a better looking cast. Kristy is very ugly. I may sound hateful but I am just being honest. She is NOT who I had in mind when reading the books. Stacey is also very ugly. I am huge fan of the book series and they tarnished the brand with this movie. The girl who played Jessi couldn't even dance. I hated this movie when I was younger and I hated it even mote now.

I bought USED from Thriftbooks and I have never had an issue. I purchased a copy that had noted wear on the disc and packaging but that was expected. The disc briefly pauses during a scene but aside from that the movie plays without issue. I saved $16 buying it used and suggest everyone else does also.

This movie, is a great movie that I can share from my childhood with my 11 year old daughter. Its a great movie for pre teens who are young, unlike the movies today for teens. Its shows the innocent of young children and who children have kind of lost that with being older then they need to. Its just a great simple family movie everyone can watch and enjoy- Melissa H

This has been and will always be one of my favorite movies ever. This is coming from a woman in her thirties!

Perhaps it is because it reminds me of my childhood and my innocence or maybe it's because I read all of the books and wanted to be like them. It could even be because I felt like one could relate to at least one of the characters and prove that even teenagers deal with real life issues. Regardless of the reason though this is a movie that I will always love. Should I ever have the pleasure of having a daughter I will definitely have us watch this film together.

I bought this movie for a blast from my past...and I wasn't let down! Although the acting, at times, is horrible, the girls are all adorable, and it took me right back to sixth grade again. I don't really like the girl that plays Kristy, but I do love the Stacey character, along with Larissa Olyneck's (sp?) character.

Unless you loved this movie as a child, or your daughter is a fan of the book series, I wouldn't recommend this movie. But if you do have a daughter, and you're looking for a good movie that is still appropriate for her, I would definitely recommend it! The plot deals with lots of issues of teen girls, and no matter who you are, you can relate to one of the girls.

I still enjoy watching the movie after all these years, and hopefully one day I can pass on the books and this movie to my daughter!
