Painfully Autotuned
Verified purchase
While I liked the story of it, the music was so horrifically autotuned and distorted! Nothing says "immersive" like a robot voice coming from a girl dancing on stage with no microphone...

Just couldn't get into it.

I love Warner Brothers Cinderella Story movies. Absolutely love them! So about this time last year, I figured they were about due to put out a new one, and I was right! I was excited to see they were doing a Christmas one, too! WB Cinderella and Hallmark Christmas unite? Yes, please! I bought this the week it came out and watched it first thing.

I didn't love it. Actually, I didn't like it at all. But I hadn't liked the last two at first, and now they're my favorites. So I watched it again, and again... and again. Nothing. I still didn't like it. At. All. Le sigh.

Kat and Nick just clicked way too quickly for me, I guess. There's no suspense when it comes to their story. And then their little diddly at Santa Land? Kat is literally flying in the air! When did she develop the ability to levitate? What was happening?! Just weird. And don't get me started on Nick's shoes. Those boots were distracting. I couldn't stop looking at how pointy they were.

I do have to give kudos for a decent Cinderella-esque home life. Kat's tormenting stepmother and stepsisters were a little more realistic than, say, "Once upon a Song". Points there.

Ugh. Now to wait another 4 years for the next one. Maybe watch number 547 will tip the scale??? I think I'll just rewatch "If the Shoe Fits".

Describing someone as a “FETUS” Inappropriate👎
Verified purchase
I wish I could get my money back! Watched with 10 yr old. I was shocked to hear in the movie “YOU LOOK JUST LIKE A “FETUS!!!” What???? Did I hear that right??? Who makes fun of a baby in uterine in that way??? Who says a FETUS is something ugly!!! Trying to indoctrinate kids to think that. Ugh!!! I hated this movie and what it’s creators/writers “slipped” into dialog like it was nothing!!

Its cute but cheesy
Verified purchase
Its not the cute cheesy either. This is the over the top unrealistic acting cheesy. The two leads and best friend side sick where great but everyone else either was given poor lines to work with and bad direction. Also I love good cheesy movies but this wasn't one of them.

Nice Story
Verified purchase
I liked it. Suitable for young kids. It was Cinderella-ish but other than having a Santa Clause at the store and a Christmas tree in the house, it wasn't Christmassy. Simple love story with way way over the top evil stepmother and stepsisters. The singing was nice, although the lip syncing to studio auto-tuning was too obvious.

Happily Ever After ...

Even though the Cinderella story has been told and retold and told again, this Christmas version was still charming! Loved the music, loved the three main protagonists, and the theme that good triumphs over evil never gets old. I don't expect this to win an Oscar, but it was certainly worth the money I spent! I would definitely recommend this movie to those who want a happy ending.

Enjoyable, cute film

While this isn't my favorite of the "A Cinderella Story" type movies, I really enjoyed it. It was a cute and fun movie. I purchased this movie to add to my collection and have watched it several times. If there was one complaint, it would be that I wish they hadn't auto-tuned her voice quite so much. Laura Marano has a lovely voice and didn't need to be enhanced like that. Still, the music was good in spite of that.
