Blog postI was fortunate to have the opportunity to be a guest blogger on Norway Traveller! I've followed David's original "Life in Norway" blog for a while now, and he recently spun off travel-oriented posts into a new blog. My blogs (there will be two) are about touring Finnmark County, in northern Norway, with my friends' rock band. In the first, I talk about exploring my friends' hometown of Alta; the second, (which will be out next week most likely) will be ab5 years ago Read more

Blog postSilence in the Library just announced the release of Rori Shay's newest book, the thrilling conclusion to the Elected series - Perfected.
I'm personally really excited about it, because this series is SO good. I know that post-apocalyptic feels done - but her take on it is completely original and so unlike anything I've read before. She never goes where I expect her to go with the plot. And her characters are so wonderfully rendered. I loved the whole series - and5 years ago Read more -
Blog postI just finished a revision on the first novel (well, probably more accurately a novella) that I ever wrote, and I uploaded the whole thing to Wattpad so that anyone can read it for free.
It's loosely based on my own high school experiences... but sort of an alternate version of them. You can only make one set of choices in life, so it's fun to explore what could have been - but wasn't - in fiction. Also, set in 1991-92, this is kind of a period piece now!

Blog postOur Athena's Daughters 2 artist, Ginger Breo, is currently running a Kickstarter for this gorgeous Tarot deck she illustrated. It's inspired by "Love and Cannibals," as it were. You'll probably realize what fandom this falls in if you look closely enough!

Blog postFor your enjoyment, a parody fic my friend Mike V. and I wrote years and years ago, I think even before Episode II came out? Maybe? It is a loving spoof of both Episode I and working for the government, and I was surprised how well it holds up. And just how well it sticks to actual dialogue from the movie. Don't worry, no spoilers for the new movie within. Happy Star Wars Day and enjoy!

Blog postI'm really excited that my story, "Lunar Camp" has been published in the 2016 Young Explorers Adventure Guide - a middle grade anthology of science fiction. I was a big fan of their 2015 antho, so it's a privilege to be in this one! (And don't be afraid to read both anthos even if you are an adult! I really liked the first one, and I can't wait to read this one!)

Blog postSilence in the Library is back with our Fall 2015 slate of books. We’re thrilled to bring you three novels and a novella that will take you from the mountains of upstate New York to the far reaches of space; from a school where children are taught to literally conquer the world to a wasteland full of monsters to an alternate universe with a very different United States of America.
These four books are from a variety of genres: urban fantasy, science fiction, young adult fantasy, and5 years ago Read more -
Blog postThe process of turning your story or book into an e-book is not a trivial one, but it's something that you definitely can do yourself.
We recently completed our Kickstarter for the Young Explorer's Adventure Guide, and one of the stretch goals was that our backers would get a copy of my story A Marvelous New World (last seen in A Hero By Any Other Name) - so I had to make an e-book single of it.
The best guide to doing it, is this one - I've used it multiple times:

Blog postI'm super thrilled and honored to my story "Lunar Camp" included in this year's "Young Explorer's Adventure Guide" - an anthology of short fiction.
It's so rare to find science fiction for middle grade readers and Dreaming Robot Press also believes strongly in representation for girls and people of color. It's so important that kids this age see themselves in what they read. They need to believe they can be or do anything they want, regardless of their race5 years ago Read more -
Blog postIf you read my story Lunar Camp, in Athena's Daughters, you might be curious what happens to Bee! You can read another short story that takes place in the same universe as Lunar Camp, called Land of the Lost, - Bee might have a cameo appearance! And I think you will like Alicia as much as Bee. I know I love them both!
Land of the Lost is currently in the anthology of space stories called Contact Light.
It's available here in paperback and e-book:

Blog postHere's a guest blog by Kelly Swails, who is editing Silence in the Library's newest anthology, called Monsters!
I didn’t quite know what to expect when I took on the challenge of editing the Monsters! anthology. I knew I’d get some solid stories by talented authors, but the depth and breadth of those stories impressed me. The stories that play with familiar tropes like zombies and demons do so in unique ways. Several stories touch on the idea that the real monsters in the world resi6 years ago Read more -
Blog postSilence in the Library's new project is an anthology called Monsters. Much like Time Traveled Tales, this antho started life as an Origins project, sold exclusively there. Also like TTT, we're going to expand it and add a bunch of new stories via Kickstarter! Also also like TTT, I'm a stretch goal author, and I'm really excited to have a story in Monsters if it hits my funding goal.

Blog postToday we have a guest blog by Megan O'Russell, author of the Tethering Series.
At its heart, The Tethering Series is about a boy who loves a girl and would do anything to protect her. There is magic, danger, and adventure abound, but the romance is very important.
In book one of the series, The Tethering, Jacob is in love with Emilia, but her boyfriend is living across the hall. With the magical world falling apart, there really isn’t much alone time for the teen prot6 years ago Read more -
