I am a novice player, with 4 basses now (Fender, Ibanez, Schecter), but kept reading many articles about this bass. It was on my list for a while and it arrived 2 days ago. I bought the black gloss, which has a tiger maple look under the gloss-and I view this as beautiful. The bass is heavier than my others and has some neck drop, but the

Okay seriously, for the price, this bass is excellent! It looks and feels excellent. It sounds great too. I was surprised when there was no pickup switch but then realized the control knobs adjust the mix. I can't imagine a better bass anywhere in this range. I play guitar but needed/wanted a bass. I'm perfectly pleased with this bass

I really wanted to like this bass guitar, but apparently there might be a quality control problem with made in Indonesia Yamaha guitars.

The Yamaha TBRX504 I received had a problem with its active circuit picking up a local radio station and playing it through my amp. In the passive mode the radio signals are cut out. This

First, the bad news: this is NOT the Fender Jazz that Geddy Lee plays.

Then again, that bass cost about six TIMES what this one cost. So, there is that.

As long as you are willing to accept that, this bass is phenomenal. Great action, comfortable fret board, and flat-out beautiful finish. My first time picking it up

Believe it or not this is one of the best basses I’ve ever owned. This is very light yet very durable and protective. I have a Squier Strat and it fits perfectly. It won’t fit the guitar with the strap on, but I never do that anyways. The pockets are big as well as the inside compartments. Enough room for a few pedels inside or a strap, cord, picks and other small accessories.

Very happy

Update: I was about to return my Gator case, sadly because except for size it was exactly what I wanted. I thought maybe I could crush the foam at each end of the case enough to make it fit my guitar. Put the guitar in the case to see how much to squish and the guitar fell right into place. What happened? I put the headstock in first

Had a gig bag for my Squier VMJB 5 string before, but if fit extremely tight at headstock area because of the extra tuner. This of course messed up my tuning because I had to turn tuner keys a certain way to fit... barely. So I went ahead and got this Gator Bass soft case instead. Now it fits perfectly. Body is snug, and neck is snug.

I purchased this axe in Jan of 2016 when I began playing bass for our Sunday services. Here it is 2019. I play approx 3 times per month and this guitar has been a rock-solid performer. I run it through a Boss Tuner and a SansAmp and I couldn't be more pleased for a $200

I bought this for my wife as she's willing to learn how to play bass. We did have an issue after the 3rd time using it. Turned on the amp and we kept getting a high rythym pitch coming out of the amp. We thought it was the amp or the connections. We tried everything. And then we thought it was a bad bass. We then noticed that the thing

The quality of the bass is incredible! I still can not believe I only paid 250 for it. I've been playing bass for many years now but this is my first 5 string. I spent a couple of weeks researching, obsessing really over what five string to get and I'm happy to say I know I made the right choice. The tone was great right out of the box,

I'll preface this with I don't play and am not musical.
My daughter wanted this for her 15th birthday. She loves the colour and the fact that it is a 5 string. She already plays guitar and piano and wanted to give bass a try.
This particular bass was slightly lighter than several other 5 strings she tried (she's a little thing).

First of all, It’s pretty.

I decided to learn to play bass after getting involved with a garage band where there are 6 old guys who play guitar. Didn’t wanna spend a whole buncha money, because at my age, I’m not gonna go pro and tour the world. But I did want an ax that was easy to play and sounded good. This was

This came with a tag indicating that it had been inspected and setup at the factory. But, shipping and handling must have had an effect on it (and/or they weren't careful at the factory) since it had multiple setup issues:

The good: The neck is fantastic with a satin finish and very comfortable to play. The electronics are great and offer a good range of tones. It's very responsive to where you hit the strings. Overall this package is decent for beginners, but there is one major problem - it is of no use out of the box because it has not been set up at all. I read a few negative things about the setup of this bass, and either they were unlucky or the seller stepped up their game.
