Probably the best purchase that I have ever made on Amazon. Perfect for students. Affordable. If compared to Yamaha P-45, there should not be any huge differences; besides “P-71” makes it some how more special since it’s made for Amazon. Weighted keys are super legit that make me feel so good when playing. The sound is soft and

The sustain pedal does not work. It does the opposite of what it supposed to do. When you don't press it the sound is sustained, but then when you press it the sound got cut off.
Also, cannot register the product. Yamaha doesn't seem to have an option of P-71.

UPDATE ON SUSTAIN PEDAL.

This is a great digital piano for the price. The feel of the weighted keys is the same as much more expensive digital pianos such as the Arias line, and the sound is warm and full. It is lovely to sit and play on. Since the keys are weighted, it is somewhat heavy and I would recommend getting the stand (the P85 stand fits) and a nice

It is my first experience in playing a keyboard (piano for that matter). This keyboard has a lot of great features for learning. It is compact and doesn't take up too much space in my small apartment. I can wear headphones while I play so I can play late into the night without disturbing my neighbors. I am really happy with this instrument, and surprised at the quality of the sound and the price. I've always liked Yamaha products, tuner/amplifiers, guitars, and now keyboards. I did not like:

Bought this to go with the Alesis 88 key, keyboard. It was recommended by Amazon to go together, so I bought it. It's nice! But the only thing is that the screws on the straps on the stand are too thin to screw into the bottom of the keyboard. So it doesn't hold securely. We'll have to get new screws to make it hold

I have a Casio Privia 160 and had the single crossbar stand. It rocked when I attempted to slide in on the chords. With this stand there is not any movement at all. It is rock solid. Set up was a snap. It took maybe 5 minutes including adjustment time. The straps seem to be useless for me though I have yet to flip my keyboard over and

I couldn't be any happier with this piano, I play it every day. The sound is great and the volume gets pretty loud at least in my opinion. My last keyboard ( not a yamaha) had terrible speakers, which was the main reason I wanted to upgrade. The voices are fun to play with and I like the recording feature. Very good case for the Akai MPK Mini. It is not super rigid so I would not recommend putting this in airplane luggage on it's own.
