Elle and Archer, finally!
Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2017
First, in the interest of full disclosure, I'm a huge Jill Shalvis fan. I always enjoy her books, but every now and then she outdoes herself. This book is one of those times.
Elle is cool, sophisticated, and in charge. Nothing gets under her skin, except Archer. Archer is a bad a$$ security expert, taciturn, stony, loyal. Elle is his biggest weak spot. But in spite of appearances, both Elle and Archer have pasts that are very different from their current lives, and while they never speak of them, they both know each others stories.
The two had been circling each other in the previous books in the series but in Accidentally on Purpose, they finally come together. Explosively! Both Elle and Archer had to face their pasts before they could move forward, and each saw their pasts differently. It was seeing themselves through the eyes of the other that let them move forward. A character like Elle could be too perfect, to untouchable to relate to. And Archer too hard, too cold. But Shalvis makes them both human, more than just their personalities, and I found myself rooting for them to succeed.
I received an advance copy of this book in return for an honest review, and I can honestly highly recommend it. It's going right to my to be reread pile. And while this is part of a series, the series doesn't need to be read in order. This works as a stand alone--but don't miss the rest of the series!
