Changes in the way Amazon allows us to apply filters and search have reduced functionality
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on November 4, 2020
I had completely switched to Amazon for any book purchases before this purchase. It was during this process of getting this series of books for my son to read that I noticed that I am no longer able to filter and order searches of used books using Amazon, as I had always been able to do before. Now a list pops up to the side when I begin a search for used books, with no obvious way to order by price and manage the search options that were available in the full screen.
Due to this, I purchased several books in the seeries before searching for and finding an alternative website that found better prices. I more recently ordered another set of books for my son using alternatives, again getting better prices for used books than what I found through the more limited functionality of Amazon's website.
Delivery of those products left something to be desired, but at this point it isn't clear if this was due to the seller or due to changes made by USPS management that are intentionally designed to limit their efficiency.
Amazon is an amazing company that has found succes through knowing their customers and providing their wants and needs. They have resisted methods employed by other corporations to force customers to do as the company wants, so this change is a surprise to me. Hopefully it's an oversight, and not a sign of things to come.
