Takes more liberty then I thought it would . . .

First off: it's a storybook Bible, featuring walking, talking bears as the main characters. I wasn't expecting a verse-by-verse match to the Bible stories. Also, the authors creatively state at the beginning, as Brother and Sister sit down with Papa and Mama, "Brother and Sister liked to imagine the Bible being played out by bears like they are." So there you go for that.
However, I've noticed in some stories, creative license, embellishment, or events or slight things that aren't at all necessary, let alone not in the Bible. Such as the lions were licking Daniel's paws? What? Why is that needed? At all?
From that one example, you can tell it's nothing theologically changing, or defaming, or bad. But still, unnecessary in my book.
Even so, it's okay to read. It's good to read. And it's good for kids as well, lightening the load on some of the heavier, more adult themes of the Bible. Don't let my one star and hesitance keep you from buying it.
