21st Birthday is the 21st book in the Women’s Murder Club by James Patterson and is a 5 star read.
The one thing you are guaranteed with a James Patterson book is a thrilling story from the first page until the last and this book is no different. The women’s murder club are looking into the disappearance of a young mother and her baby and the fingers are pointing at her husband but as more bodies show up they realise that they have a serial killer on their hands and time is running out before the next bodies are found. I’m a huge James Patterson fan everything he writes is brilliant.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book through Netgalley.

I am So disappointed In James Patterson's writing lately. I have read all it women murder club books Are shorter and length And in suspense I think he writes too many books in such a short time and doesn't give enough creativity and thought To each 1. I stopped reading his Alex cross books because they were getting so boring. The women's murder club 1st books so incredibly well written Now After reading 21 of them And paying of it price for them I think I am going to stop reading James Patterson. He was a better writer when he wrote his books himself. It's a shame I think a lot of readers feel the same way

I like Patterson's writing because the chapters are short and it flows easily. But so many things bothered me about this book and the series in general. Yes, Boxer is a homicide detective and it's a tough, grueling job, but her husband and daughter take a back seat not only to her job but to her girlfriends. After not seeing your family for the past 15 hours, you'd think she'd go home, but she goes to the bar to meet her girlfriends, and her husband is okay with whatever she does. Everything is perfect in her marriage, everything is perfect with Cindy and Rich, everything is perfect with Yuki and her husband. And that's another laugh - the detective and the journalist live together, one of the top cops and the ADA are married, it's conflicts of interest all over the place in my opinion, but no one seems to care. In this book, I found the ending horrible. In real life, there is no way the jury would find what they found, I believe and the ADA is celebrating all over the place when she might have made a really major mistake. All she does is open her mouth in court and everyone says how sharp and amazing she is, and she really is not all that sharp or amazing. I've read several books in this series and they are getting more annoying and silly as they go on, so I think I'll stop reading them.

I always look forward to a new Women's Murder Club book but was not happy with this one. It appears that they all were anxious to make their case and rush to judgment. I hope the next book will be better and they'll work together for justice!

This may be the last James Patterson book I read. I have loved the Women's Murder Club series, but this book is a disaster. The characters are poorly developed and their actions are unbelievable. The story line is disconnected and jumps around with no connection. The ending is so disappointing and reads like the author just ran out of ideas and stopped writing. I reread the last chapters again to see what I had missed, just as others have mentioned in their reviews. This is one book I won't be passing on for others to read, nor will I recommend it.

I have read all the Womens murder club books and have always eagerly awaited the next one. This one had so many repeat themes it was like i had already read it before. A quarter of the way through you could figure out the end. I am still a James Patterson fan but if i had read this one first i wouldnt read the next one.

Simply stated, this was not a good book. The normal tension and Intrigue of a Women's Murder Club book was not there in this issue. It seems James Patterson and his cohorts have a new book of every week, and they are getting weaker and weaker in plot and story structure. That's it I'm done!

This book has no love in it. Very choppy and open-ended. Nothing had closure. I've read all th WMC books and the last two seem to be rushed. Seems like a year to write them would be plenty of time to get it right. We know it can be done because the series is great! The ending is horrible. Just leaves you hallow. And the plot is predictable with no excitement. Disappointed!

I love these books and normally do not write reviews. They are quick and easy reads with a little suspense and interesting flow. This one fell short on so many levels. Everything felt like it was repeated over and over. They talked about the rock on the gas pedal of Volvo four or five times. Then the beginning of the book was all re-told during the trial. It feels like chapters of the book are missing.

This novel for almost 400 pages was a decent read, with the reader left guessing throughout. However, without revealing anything, the ending was very disappointing, leaving me with too many unanswered questions.

This was the most confusing Patterson book I've ever read. The baby was found dead in a park a few days after her mom disappeared with her, and then a few days after that, strapped in her safety seat in the back of her mom's submerged car?! wow! Not well edited for typographical errors. Not even close to his best writing.

Neither Lucas or Evan Burke had any qualities to peak my interest. I think the authors were looking to emulate Hannibal Lector, but they missed the mark. I would not recommend this book. Was disappointed as I have followed the series from the first book.
