Once again Hailey Edwards hits a home run. I started reading Hailey Edwards when the first book of this series was published. It was free and I downloaded it because it looked interesting and is set not far from where I live. I loved it and looked forward to the next books in the series and have purchased all of them.
All of the previous books have a lot of questions about where the main character, ,Luce Boudreau, came from and what her heritage is. She can't remember anything before she came to consciousness in bayous of Canton, MS., as a young girl. Her life before is a complete blank.
You become invested in Luce's hunt for her history and ancestry immediately. You find yourself trying to piece the puzzle of her life back together yourself, even though you, like Luce, don't have access to all the pieces...yet. This book answers all of the questions and introduces so much more that is in the offing.
All of Hailey Edwards books are very well written. All of her characters are fleshed out and details you need to love them or hate them are included. I have since branched out to her other series and am enjoying them also. I will see this to the end as each book leaves you wanting more. I'm hoping for a happily ever after for Luce and all of the people she loves. Or maybe I'm the one that needs the happily ever after for Luce.
