How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

5.0 out of 5 starsGreat as Expected

Every Stone Barrington book is a new story and every one has been great. I never tire of these. Not so with other series I've read. There have been plenty, but I soon get bored because the writer seems to run out of steam. Stuart Woods just keeps cranking out fabulous ideas. Stone's lifestyle is amazing.

I am no longer a fan of the SB novels. Plots are thin and repetitive. They are soft porn and appear to be written in the persona of Woods: 50-65 year, average looking, thinning hair, out of shape, will mount any woman on this planet without thoughts to STDs, pregnancy, and feelings.
Although the women are smart and tops in their professions, they fall into bed with a stranger without a second thought.
Stone is an old horn dog who uses his money to pay off the women and treats them all like prostitutes to serve his needs for which he can pay without blinking. Stone throws money at people, things, problems and does not invest any of himself in anyone: life is just one big playground to romp through and not commit to anyone or any thing.
For all the booze, wine and food he consumes without going to a gym or exercising at home, his body has got to be bloated and he has to have a myriad of medical problems. I kept thinking over the years, that Woods will mature Stone from his puerile ways and stop with the wanton sex every 10 pages with a different woman in each scene and stop presenting women as prostitutes. James Bond Stone is NOT!

I have been a HUGE fan of Stuart Woods for years now and have read everything he has published. The last few books have been poor quality and I did not say anything. But, this one was so bad, I had to write this review. His plots have been contorted and unrealistic for a while, but this one was outlandish and unbelievable. The character development has been lacking as well. But, now that Stone is dating the POTUS, surely you can develop a more logical, interesting, and believable storyline. If not, you should retire the character and the series and maybe stop writing all together. Sorry to be so harsh, but you have really disappointed a lot of readers with this book.

This is my first Stone Barrington novel and will certainly be my last. It is so childishly written that I thought it must be the work of a high school student with overactive hormones. I laughed all the way through the book (which was probably what Mr. Woods was doing as he walked to the bank).

Stuart Woods has had a break with reality...no continuity in this book at all...just a bunch of independent scenes not tied together in any way.

Very disappointing......unless you're a 15 year old boy who thinks constantly of indiscriminate sex with anything that moves. Conspicuous consumption in print. Will not be reading any further drivel from this hack writer, he certainly is not an author. I would not recommend this mess to anyone! Save your money and find a real author who can generate a believable story line with characters that you could like.

Very disappointed in this book, Stone Barrington spent the majority of his time having sex with every woman who crossed his path. I had always read about this character because he was fun, not a sex addict. Really felt it was a sorry excuse for a mystery.

Too predictable, Stuart Woods has made Stone a sex addict, womanizer. Book is short on substance, heavy on sex, sex, sex.

Every once in a while in this series, Woods just mails it in, for whatever reason. This is one of them, and I paid way too much money for a book that wouldn't be worth it on Kindle Unlimited. From now on I'll wait a couple years for the price to come down. Or take the time to read the reviews.
