Read the sample first. I paid $3.81 to read on my Kindle; I'm happy I didn't pay full price for this competently written, but by-the-numbers story that will remind you of many other, mostly much better books. Even setting the action in Australia didn't do anything, because there's nothing that makes the location important or, even, distinctly Aussie, save a very few local terms, like biscuit instead of cookie.
I wonder, too, if the editing was rushed, because there are some holes in the plot, as if sections were deleted without addressing loose ends. Some plot elements were established then unaddressed, and characters knew things they never were told--as if they were told in a section edited out. These aren't major things, but they are pretty obvious omissions.
If you can buy the cheaper electronic edition, it may be worth it. But the experience will be akin to watching any old show on TV when you don't have anything better to do.
